The first big snow in years

The past four winters in Park City have been between poor and mediocre for snowfall.  Quite frankly, it has really gotten old.  With the El Nino thing going on, it is kind of a mystery what we will see in Utah for precipitation.

So far, so good.  After a bit of a slow start, our ski resorts have gotten almost four feet in four days.  We have had a good 30 inches here at the house.

This is probably the best measure of depth.  Jasper is a tall lanky dog.  You can see his butt and if you look on the downhill side, you can make out his ears.

Nothing beats chasing snowballs.  Given that he is standing in feet of snow, the idea seems a little perplexing.

He can't ploy through it so every step requires a bit of Tigger. This is one of the few times of the year when it is really easy to wear him out.

Even the little monsters on the front porch seem to be saying "Enough already!"

As if the skiing and dog play don't make me happy enough, I can look at the big drifts next door and realize that I don't have to spend over an hour fighting a big snow blower.  It's hard to tell, but those piles are over three feet deep.  Blowing that much snow up over those walls is a Herculean task.  Perhaps Sisyphus is more accurate.
