Lieutenant General? Already?

Just 18 months ago I wrote about a guy I went to high school with, John Hesterman.  In only three years he had gone from Brigadier General to Major General in the Air Force.  Now, 18 months later, he gets a new job taking him to Lieutenant General (3 star for those counting).  He's just waiting for Senate confirmation.

President Obama nominated Air Force Major General John Hesterman to be the military deputy for readiness to the under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness, the Department of Defense announced. Hesterman would receive a promotion to Lieutenant General. Hesterman currently serves as the assistant deputy chief of staff for operation, plans and requirements for the Air Force.

It's an honor to know someone who has done so much for his country and who is so good at doing it.
