Moab - Flowers

I won't spend time describing each of the flowers below, but it was pretty amazing to see what can grow in the desert climate.  Going way beyond just surviving, these plants all have beautiful blooms!

This barrel-shaped cactus was my favorite.  The flowers were stunning.

Beautiful flowers! When the desert blooms, it is a lovely thing. By the way, if you hear about an unusual bloom (because of unusual rain amounts in Death Valley, drop everything, grab your camera and GO! We lucked up on it, and there were flowers everywhere. Not just cacti, but flowers that had lain dormant for decades waiting for enough rain so they could grow and bloom again. We would stop to see one flower that caught our eye only to find four different ones nearby.
